Friday 23rd November saw the culmination of months of hard work at our Charity Quiz Night in Ripley. Our fundraising target of £1,000 was smashed as we took £625 on the night which, thanks to £500 of matched funding from Ernst & Young and a further £200 from Rolls Royce, means that we now have £1,325 to hand over to the County Air Ambulance!

We were at full capacity as 16 teams from Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire came along to show their support, including contingents from Rotary and Inner Wheel clubs, past and current Rotaract members, and friends and family of Rotaract members.

Congratulations go to everyone who took part, but especial congratulations go to the Defectors (a team which included three past Rotaract members) for taking first prize in a closely fought battle. They also generously donated their prize of £25 back to us to go towards the County Air Ambulance, so thank you for that!

Thanks must also go to the following:

- Marehay Miner's Welfare who very generously forewent their fee for the use of their function room;
- Rotary District 1220 for funding the buffet;
- Claire, Jonathan, Tom, Ali and Linda from Derby Rotaract for buying all the food during the England-Croatia match, and then cooking and preparing it all;
- RedWelly, Sainsbury's, Morrisons, Bird's, Romo Fabrics, Derby City Council, CONKERS, Tamworth Snowdome, Denby Pottery, Ernst & Young, and Rotary District 1220 for generous raffle prize donations;
- Derwent Valley Rotaract for the use of their display boards to show what the Rotaract clubs in the district have been up to recently.
